My buddy, Jake, from b-school (and oft squash partner) was in a spinach speed-eating competition. It was sponsored by B. Good, a great burger spot in Cambridge, and they have a signature side called “Garlicky Greens”. He did respectably, finishing 3rd among amateurs, but was sandwiched between 2 pros, one of whom, “Pretty Boy” Pete Davekos, shown on the far right of the video, consumed 7.1 lbs., more than doubling last year’s winning quantity. Jake ate about 1/3 of that, which is a lot in ~3 minutes.
