Who am I?
I'm a Market Research Manager in iTunes at Apple. Before that, I co-founded a teddy bear company called FanZanimal. Before that I went to Harvard Business School. Before that I worked for Bain & Company. Before that I went to Brown University and played lacrosse. Before that I went to Milton Academy. Before that I went to Meadowbrook. Before that I had nothing to do but root for the Red Sox.

Inspired my friends Nikki & Scott, and my brother Billy, who all have learned to play musical instruments during adulthood, I’m taking a crack at piano.
I’m getting things off the ground with Apple’s GarageBand software, that has lessons built in. A friend at Apple who works in the group that makes the application showed me how they have lessons available from famous musicians teaching you their songs.
I picked up a keyboard on Amazon, connected it to the computer, and the program is showing me everything I need to know. I love it, but it’s clear that this is gonna be a long road to travel. Wow, am I bad.
Lisa’s good at piano from years of lessons, so I’d love to be able to do family duets and singalongs by the time we add a roommate in August.
Not sure if this’ll ever go anywhere, but it’s a lot of fun to try. The great thing about the software is that it gives you a metronome, an instructor, and a back up band that will patiently plough through all my mistakes. I’m told, too, that there’s a million great lessons available on YouTube for any song you’d want to play, although I haven’t made it that far yet.
