The video your sneakers don't want you to see
I’ve become more and more interested lately in barefoot running since reading Born to Run.
I originally picked up the book on the advice of my buddy, Will. He’s been running barefoot through Boston for months now, and swears by it.
Here’s a link to two clips of Will running on a treadmill in a study at Harvard evolutionary biology professor Dan Lieberman’s lab.
This video makes a really compelling case for the damage that sneakers do to the body.
My version of barefoot running has simply been Nike Frees. It’s a compromise between my ego and my feet. I’d been holding off on getting Vibram 5 Fingers because I assumed I’d look like a freak, but I’m just too curious now.
