Before that I worked for Bain & Company. Before that I went to Brown University and played lacrosse. Before that I went to Milton Academy. Before that I went to Meadowbrook. Before that I had nothing to do but root for the Red Sox.

In professional wrestling, kayfabe is the portrayal of events within the industry as “real.” That is, the portrayal of professional wrestling as being genuine or not worked. Referring to events or interviews as being a “work” means that the event/interview has been “kayfabed” or staged, and/or is part of a wrestling angle while being passed off as legitimate.
This “Best of Wikipedia” blog is very well done, and I’m sure it’s harder to do then one might think.
In the last year or so, I’ve learned that there’s a whole dictionary of terms associated with professional wrestling. While I don’t find it terribly entertaining, the philosophical implications of a “partial break of kayfabe” are fun to explore.
